GRAND kids

We didn't get as early a start as expected...nothing new with us. Audrey came aboard the Discovery to investigate everything, and I do mean everything. I don't think there was one button, lever or knob she didn't try to work. She even climbed into the drivers seat to drive us all off. It is hard to get a good picture of her these days, since she is constantly on the move. Here she is watching Papa trying to get the gas shut-off to quit beeping.

All aboard the Discovery Motor Home Leaving Nampa, Idaho traveling to Chief Timothy Park just outside Clarkston, Washington. Papa was getting a little thirsty around LaGrande, so we decided to stop at Albertson's with a side trip for a frosty at Wendy's. Everyone tanked up with food and then we stopped for a few groceries. When we got back to the motor home, the batteries were dead, the one that mattered most anyway. Dead in the water. Papa went to work solving the battery problem, and I went to work solving the disillusion, depression and general dispair of Ally and Parker. They were sure that we would never get to our camp site and that they would never see their Mommie again. Well.....three hours and a new battery later, we were on our way, with the only mishap of the trip behind us. We got in after dark, but the adventure had begun and all was well.

Picture below clockwise starting with Ally Bartlow, Parker Bartlow, Bryant Sharp, son of Greg, Josh Bartlow, son of Scott and Debbie Bartlow and Austin Sharp, son of Greg. These were the youngest of the Bartlow Clan.
Brian has already posted the great achievement of Parker. In his own intent way, he hit the pavement the first morning with great resolve to get better and better on his 2 wheeler. What Brian didn't tell you, was that Papa spent quite a few hours repairing those tires several times, until...enough was enough. Boy those puncture vines were everywhere.
Under these tents were 3 tables where we would gather for our evening meals. Anyone who wanted to join, just brought their supper and we all shared. Wow, what a bounty of food and fellowship. Posted by Picasa
