Huckleberry picking
posted by Carol @ 7:31 PM

Today was the first day without a toddler in the cabin, so it was the first day that Nancy and I could go Huckleberry picking. We didn't start as early as hoped because Jim and Nancy were busy chasing a Mosquito until 1 am, so they slept in a bit. The picking was excellent. We wore ourselves out by 1 pm and came 4-wheelin' home with our treasure.

Kathy Henrickson has also been up in Donnely staying the nights while she is "styling" the Rustica store for it's Grand Opening tomorrow. After a shower, I went down to the store and helped put pine garland in the windows with cup hooks, and helped Kathy out....just a little bit. Mainly, I kidnapped her and took her to Charley's Garden..a quick trip....and then dropped her back at the store for some finish up work. She had been to the garden on her honeymoon 33 years ago.

I had better cut this blog short and get up and move. Bending over huckleberry bushes for several hours can cause serious back muscle strain.
